Sherlock approaches John from the other side of the room and clears his throat loudly to attract John’s attention. John shoots him a sidelong glance over his shoulder and asks, “What is it?” with a look of confusion on his old and unappealing features.

“John,” Sherlock begins, “I’ve been having some blasphemous thoughts recently and I want to discuss them with you.”

John places his Bible onto the table and gives Sherlock his full attention. “Okay,” he says. “Like what?”
